Family, friends, and well-wishers gathered at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) Kingston campus on Friday, July 24, 2026, to celebrate the joyful vow renewal ceremony of Shaniel and Devon. The event was organized by the UCC Event Management Summer Class, demonstrating how students can transform classroom knowledge into practical experiences through real-world event planning.
Rather than relying only on lectures and textbooks, students applied key event management principles, including venue design, coordination, entertainment planning, and guest experience management, to create a memorable celebration. The beautifully decorated venue featured elegant white drapery complemented by blue and gold accents, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere for the afternoon’s festivities.
One of the most touching moments of the celebration occurred during the reception when the couple’s young son captured everyone’s attention. With an innocent smile, he encouraged his father to kiss his mother more. His heartfelt request brought cheers, laughter, and emotional reactions from the guests, reminding everyone that love is strengthened through affection and appreciation.
Additionally, the reception featured a fun and memorable game that created plenty of laughter. When the groom was asked to identify his wife’s favourite drink, he confidently answered “Piña Colada.” However, his response was incorrect, as his wife’s actual favourite drink was vodka, a popular spirit often enjoyed in various mixed beverages. The playful mistake created a humorous moment and showed that even small details can bring joy and laughter to a relationship.
Despite the amusing mix-up, the celebration highlighted the couple’s strong connection and the importance of family support.
